Hair transplant cost in Pakistan – an overview

Hair Transplant Cost in Pakistan Ask any expert about the cost of a hair transplant and he will tell you that the price should not be your primary concern when selecting a hair transplant. But somebody has to pay for the transplant, right! Then why cost should not be your primary concern?

Price should be your concern – although I happen to agree with the primary part. Do not compromise the quality for the sake of price! If you think that you do not have adequate resources to afford a good transplant now, wait for a few months or a year but do not choose a substandard transplant. A hair transplant performed by inexperienced or incompetent surgeon can lead to damage to your existing hair, unnatural results, or in the worst-case scenario, infections. Before you consider price, pay careful attention to the quality and make sure that you will get what you are looking for.
When you have shortlisted surgeons and clinics regarding quality, it is the time to consider cost. A good transplant does not need to be extraordinarily expensive. Some clinics charge heavily just to show that they are better. They have tailored their services to elite only. If you are the one who have the resources to pay any price, it is ok to choose the most expensive clinic. Otherwise, choose a clinic that provides best value for your money.
To compare the cost of different clinics, you need to have the proper information about their pricing mechanism. It is usually determined in the following three ways. There are four points worth considering when comparing prices of different clinics. The first point is regarding transplantation method, and the other three points elaborate three different pricing mechanisms.
1. Method of transplantation: Surgeons are using two different transplantation methods nowadays, strip removal and FUE (follicular unit extraction). Surgeons have been using strip removal method for many years. In this method, the surgeon removes a strip of scalp from the back of the head. The surgery team separates hair follicles in this strip into individual grafts by using stereoscopic dissecting microscopes. After separation, they are ready to be planted at the recipient site. On the other hand, FUE is a relatively newer method, and the surgeons have started using it for the last few years. In FUE, surgeon extracts individual hair grafts with the help of an advanced tool. Cutting of the scalp is not needed in this method. Because the FUE method needs a more skilled surgeon, and he has to extract thousands of hair grafts from the donor site individually, this method costs more than the strip removal. When comparing prices of different clinics, make sure to compare the prices according to transplantation method.
2. Lump sum pricing: This is the first and oldest pricing method. Many clinics still charge a lump sum amount for a hair transplant session. This can be ambiguous if you do not ask for how many hairs or hair grafts they are going to transplant.
3. Per graft pricing: However, remember the difference between a graft and a hair. The hairs on our head are present in the form of grafts, and each graft contains 1-4 hairs. So, the average is 2.5 hairs per graft. If a surgeon transplants 3,000 grafts, it will be 7,500 hairs approximately.
4. Per hair pricing: Some clinics charge based on per hair. Now, when you know the difference between a hair and a graft, there should be no difficulty in comparing prices of different clinics.
I hope that you can now choose a clinic that provides your desired results, and is easy on your pocketbook as well.
